Mor Diop is likely to make his full Darlington debut this weekend when the Quakers make the long trip south to take on Barnet. Diop has now been with Darlo for the last couple of weeks but he has only made one substitute appearance for Steve Staunton`s side as he picked up a knock shortly after arriving in the north east.
It is likely that Diop will partner the young Aston Villa forward James Collins after the youngster netted against Hereford United last week. Collins is highly regarded by the coaching staff at Villa Park and the young forward is hoping that a solid loan spell at the Northern Echo Arena will move him closer to Martin O`Neils first team.
Quakers only have 3 senior forwards on their books at present and as both Simon Thomas and James Collins are only at the club on short term deals it would be a great boost to the side if Diop was able to make an instant impact for Darlington. Darlo boss Steve Staunton is still shaping the Quakers squad and he will no doubt be looking to boost the clubs strikeforce given the sides poor goal scoring record so far this season.
Teenage forward Curtis Main could also be involved against Barnet at Underhill. Main has impressed in the few appearances he has made for the senior team so far this season and keeping the youngster involved with the first team would be a sensible move given that is Darlington suffer a couple of injury`s up front Main is likely to come into the starting eleven.
Another player who could back into Steve Staunton`s side is centre half Ian Miller who missed last weeks defeat at Edgar Street after suffering concussion in Quakers League 2 encounter at Barnet a fortnight ago. Miller is one the clubs most experienced players and if the former Ipswich Town defender is available for selection at the weekend he is likely to partner club captain Steve Foster in the heart of defence.
Gary Smith could also come back into the first team after missing the last couple of games though injury. Smith has been a regular for Darlo so far this term and if he fully recovers from the knock that has kept him out Steve Staunton will have to decide whether or not to restore Smith to starting eleven straight away.
Rock Bottom, and definately need to start winning games, even if they are all 1-0 boring things. points are even at this early stage in the season a nessecity.buzz lightyear
Can Steve Staunton turn things around? Well he certainly can't do any worse than Colin Todd. Good luck!Kevinho
