Stamp leaves Darlington
Darlington have released Phil Stamp from his contract by mutual consent after Stamp made only 9 appearances in his 18-month spell. Stamp was under contract until the end of the season but it seems Penney and Stamp came to an agreement over the termination of the contract.
The former Hearts and Middlesbrough midfielder had limited first team appearances for the Quakers due to constant injuries. Stamp scored only once for the Quakers in a 3-1 win at Shrewsbury. One of his more notable appearances for the club was in a 3-2 defeat at Notts County where he played in goal for the second half.
Darlington manager, Dave Penney, said: 'Phil has struggled with injury this season and we came to an agreement to terminate his contract with the club. He is a great personality in the dressing room and a popular figure with the players and everyone would like to wish him all the very best for the future.'
